Everything about this set is classy and practical. Let's face it...no matter how good an idea something is, it's worthless if it's inconvenient to use and we leave it at home. This little kit solves that problem by being small enough to slip in a pocket. I haven't got my telescoping straw yet, but it appears to fit in the kit along with the other utensils.
This being said, what's needed now is an equally user friendly re-usable replacement for those environmentally abhorrent take-out cups. While the cups themselves are usually made from waxed paper, the snap on lids that hold the straw and prevent spilling are single use plastic. Re-usable cups in the standard large take out size are readily available (I have a pair of stainless steel ones in my truck that have a watertight screw on lid and came with their own stainless steel straw) but what I've yet to find is something with the "out and about" convenience of the Outlery utensil set. I'm thinking a silicon collapsible cup in the standard size with integrated lid. Hint hint, Outlery folks ^.^
